Flooring Adhesives
Wood-based flooring is usually installed onto a ‘floating floor’ and not directly onto the solid subfloor. Homes with a concrete subfloor should glue down hardwood floor, while a wooden subfloor allows for either option. And with floating floors, there are usually two types of fastening. One is a ‘click system’ and the other uses tongue and groove (t&g) planks. For tongue and groove floors, Adhesives Online supplies two flooring adhesives. All in all, our Premium D3 PVA glue is the most commonly used of the two. The elasticity in this glue is what separates it from regular wood glue. That’s because it’s water-resistant, easy to apply, dries clear, and is easy to clean off.
On the other hand, if you need a fully water-proof joint, then choose our liquid polyurethane glue – PU30. If you choose this option, keep in mind it’s more difficult to clean off the surface, and it also foams a little in use. In truth, Premium D3 PVA glue will likely be best for 90% of the work, but if you need a completely waterproof bond then use PU30. Our glue is simple to apply and versatile so it can be used on hardwoods, softwoods and wood composites and is also water resistant meaning it’s just as dependable outdoors as it is indoors. Its application improves the speed and quality of hardwood flooring installation, making it smarter and more hassle-free than other installation methods like floating, nailing down and sticky membrane. This double function allows you to protect your subfloor against sound propagation.
